On behalf of the outstanding women of the Sigma Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated®, welcome to our website. From her inception in 1990, Sigma Pi Omega
has serviced the City of Torrance and surrounding South Bay communities of Southern
California.
Established in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, is dedicated to service,
achievement, scholarship, and promoting sisterly love.
Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed and our Far
Western Regional Director, Shelby D. Boagni, we embrace the administration’s program of
service; “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood”. Through the International
Program initiatives, Target 1- Strengthen our Sisterhood, Target 2 – Empower our Families,
Target 3 – Guiding Our Economic Wealth, Target 4 – Enhance our Environment, Target 5 –
Advocate for Social Justice, and Target 6 – Uplift our Local Community.
